The search to achieve improved health must include answers specific for your own needs and a hair analysis can help. It provides you with the knowledge of your mineral content and any heavy metal toxicities. |
|
A hair tissue mineral analysis then can guide you to make appropriate changes in your lifestyle, environment, diet, use of nutritional supplements, and detoxification programs allowing you to obtain the ultimate health and well-being you deserve.
Hair tissue mineral analysis is unique in that it is non-invasive and an inexpensive way to give information directly about cellular activity - the main site of nutritional metabolism. It indicates the nutritional content of the body's tissue, toxic heavy metals, the ratio of nutrients to heavy metal toxins, and your metabolic type. Blood work provides different information and varies daily depending on what you've eaten, emotional stresses, etc. Blood mineral levels are ten times less than they are in the hair tissue, which makes measurements difficult.
THE IMPORTANCE OF USING A SPECIFIC LAB FOR HAIR TISSUE MINERAL ANALYSIS
The two keys to the use of hair tissue mineral analysis is that the test must be performed by a lab that does not wash the hair and must be interpreted correctly.
Few physicians or consultants use the right laboratory or interpret the test properly. Six of the eight commercial mineral analysis labs in the US wash the hair at the lab. Hair is porous and washing with solvents and detergents washes out electrolyte and trace minerals which are the most important indicators on the test! Dr. Akin uses the lab that does not wash the hair and therefore provides accurate readings.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER A HAIR ANALYSIS
Hair tissue mineral analysis can help anyone who is ill and has no explanation as to why, or the cause seems to be identified but the therapy is not effective. Hair tissue mineral analysis can open up a whole new approach to solving your own particular problem and can address:.

Even without a severe health problem, abnormal changes in body chemistry and nutritional
deficiencies may result in early, subtle changes in the body such as the following:
- White spots in the nails, stretch marks, and lack of nail growth can indicate a possible zinc deficiency.
- Longitudinal ridging in the nails may indicate an iron deficiency.
- Brittle hair and nails can show a calcium and copper imbalance.
The above indicators are early signs of metabolic disturbances and may lead to serious problems if left unchecked. Hair analysis can help detect these early warning signs and help you prevent potential health problems.
How the Test is conducted
The hair sample is approximately 1 tablespoon of hair cut closest to the scalp from a few locations at the back of the head. Waiting 4 -6 weeks for new hair growth from permed or dyed hair is suggested. Pubic hair is always an option. The length of the hair is not important but the amount of the hair is. You will be provided with everything to mail the sample directly to the lab for processing.
You will receive a 15-20 page report that includes your information about:
* Mineral levels and heavy metal toxicities
* Strength of your immune system
* Metabolic rate
* Sugar and carbohydrate tolerance
Ordering the hair analysis test will also include a 15 minute phone or email consultation with Dr. Akin. She will provide further interpretation of the results as well as recommending a wealth of information covering diets, specific supplements and detoxification programs.
This hair tissue mineral analysis should give you a complete picture of what is
needed to improve your health.
